Who we are
Summit Mods is a FiveM development studio run by its two founders in the United Kingdom. It is not a registered company. While that is the case, the founders are responsible for the personal information described here (the “data controller”). You can contact us about privacy at support@summitmods.com.
When you contact us
If you message us in our Discord or email us, we receive what you send: your Discord username or your name and email address, and anything else you choose to include, such as a Tebex transaction ID, details of your server, a budget and your message.
We use it to reply to you and to deal with your request, including any quote or work that follows. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us, and, where you are asking about buying something or commissioning work, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Emails are kept in our Google Workspace account. Discord messages stay on Discord, which handles them under its own policies (see below).
When you buy something
Store purchases are sold and processed by Tebex, which is the merchant of record. Tebex collects and handles your payment details under its own privacy policy, available on its website and checkout. We never see your card details.
Tebex shares order information with us, such as the name or username on the order, your email address, your Cfx.re account details and what you bought, so we can deliver your purchase, answer questions about it and meet our legal obligations. Our lawful basis is performing our contract with you and our legal obligations.
When you sign in with Cfx.re at checkout, that sign-in is handled by Cfx.re and Tebex, not by us.
When you browse the site
Like any website, our host Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
The site also stores a few things in your own browser, not on our servers:
| Stored item | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|
sm.theme | Your Dark, Light or System choice. | Until you clear it |
summitmods.store.* | Your basket, any codes you entered and your checkout in progress. | Until checkout completes or you clear it |
sm.consent | Your analytics choice, if we ask for one. | Until you change it |
These are strictly necessary for features you ask for, or record your own preference, so they don’t need your consent. They are not used to track you.
Analytics
If we use Google Analytics, it only runs after you press Accept in the cookie banner, and nothing is sent to Google before then. It sets cookies (named _ga and similar) to count visits and see which pages are useful. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If no banner appears, analytics is switched off.
Discord
We give support in our Discord. If you join one of our Discord servers, Discord handles your information under its own policies, and we see what you post or send us there. You never need Discord to make a privacy request, ask for a refund or exercise your other rights: email support@summitmods.com.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that help us runSummit Mods (Google Workspace, Cloudflare and Tebex, as described above), or where the law requires it. Some of these providers may process information outside the UK; where they do, they use the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: for as long as we need to deal with them and any follow-up, and no longer than 24 months after our last contact, unless they relate to an order or a dispute.
- Order records: for as long as we must keep them for tax and accounting purposes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict or stop using it, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email support@summitmods.com. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you about significant changes where we can.
